宜蘭大學與馬來西亞沙巴大學簽署合作備忘錄 攜手推動多元交流

　　國立宜蘭大學與馬來西亞沙巴大學近日簽署合作備忘錄（MOU），雙方將在學術人員與學生交流、聯合研究計畫、教育專案推動、學生發展活動及其他合作領域展開深度合作，進一步強化兩校之間的國際連結與發展。

　　簽署儀式貴賓包括沙巴大學校長 Prof. Datuk Dr. Kasim Hj. Mansor、註冊主任 Luqman Ridha Anwar、熱帶林學院院長 Assoc. Prof. Dr. Normah Awang Besar、課程主任 Dr. Rafidah Md. Salim，以及副教授 Dr. Liew Kang Chiang。宜蘭大學則由研發長花國鋒率領森林暨自然資源學系教師陳子英、毛俊傑、羅盛峰、林奐宇等代表共同出席。

　　值得一提的是，宜蘭大學森林暨自然資源學系與沙巴大學合作開設的「熱帶雨林學」課程已邁入第十年，雙方持續透過跨國學習與研究推動生態保育與永續林業的國際教育。此次MOU的簽署，不僅展現宜蘭大學拓展國際合作版圖的決心，也為兩校在教學與研究領域開創更多合作契機。

National Ilan University (NIU) and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to deepen collaboration across various areas, including faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, educational program initiatives, student development activities, and other potential fields of cooperation. This partnership aims to further strengthen the international ties and development between the two institutions.

Distinguished guests at the signing ceremony from UMS included Vice Chancellor Prof. Datuk Dr. Kasim Hj. Mansor, Registrar Luqman Ridha Anwar, Dean of the Faculty of Tropical Forestry Assoc. Prof. Dr. Normah Awang Besar, Program Director Dr. Rafidah Md. Salim, and Associate Professor Dr. Liew Kang Chiang. Representing NIU were Vice President for Research and Development Dr. Kuo-Feng Hua, along with faculty members from the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources: Dr. Tzu-Ying Chen, Dr. Chun-Chieh Mao, Dr. Sheng-Feng Lo, and Dr. Huan-Yu Lin.

It is worth noting that the “Tropical Rainforest Studies” course jointly offered by NIU’s Department of Forestry and Natural Resources and UMS has now entered its tenth year. Through ongoing international learning and research, the two universities have consistently promoted ecological conservation and sustainable forestry education on a global scale.

The signing of this MOU not only underscores NIU’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships, but also opens up new opportunities for cooperation in teaching and research between the two institutions.
